Job summary

Analog Devices is seeking an Equipment Engineer to ensure equipment availability and reliability in a high-volume semiconductor environment. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Quality, and Facilities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets, while supporting equipment systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline ( Electronics/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics/ Computer ).
  • Experience in equipment engineering or manufacturing engineering preferred in semiconductor/electronics.
  • Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Willingness to support manufacturing operations including shift/on-call coverage.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical foundation may be considered depending on need.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and qualify manufacturing equipment to support production requirements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead equipment improvement projects for reliability, uptime, yield and cycle time.
  • Support installation, commissioning, qualification, setup validation and release to production.
  • Document findings, coordinate actions with engineers, technicians, and production teams.
  • Collect and analyze equipment data to reduce downtime and improve processes.

Role Overview

The Equipment Engineering role supports Manufacturing Operations by ensuring equipment availability, reliability, capability, and continuous improvement in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and other support teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets. Supports equipment engineering activities, maintenance effectiveness, troubleshooting documentation, and improvement initiatives. This role is intended for developing engineers who can learn equipment systems, execute assigned tasks, and contribute to equipment availability and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure assigned manufacturing equipment is maintained, qualified, and capable of supporting production requirements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime and recurrence.
  • Implement equipment improvement projects focused on reliability, uptime, yield, cycle time, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, setup validation, and release to production as applicable.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues, documenting findings, and coordinating follow-through actions with engineers, technicians, and production teams.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities, checklist validation, data gathering, and equipment performance monitoring.
  • Prepare or update basic technical documentation such as work instructions, troubleshooting notes, training materials, and engineering logs.
  • Participate in equipment improvement, qualification, conversion, and standardization activities under supervision.
  • Collect and analyze basic equipment data to support downtime reduction, repeat issue monitoring, and improvement recommendations.
  • Build technical familiarity with assigned equipment, safety requirements, manufacturing standards, and escalation protocols.
  • Create, review, and maintain equipment documentation such as work instructions, checklists, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and engineering reports.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure timely closure of action items.
  • Promote compliance with safety, EHS, quality, change control, and manufacturing standards.
  • Provide technical support to production teams during line issues, equipment excursions, and improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in equipment engineering, maintenance engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related semiconductor/electronics manufacturing function is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, statistical/problem-solving methods, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to support manufacturing operations, including shifting schedule, on-call support, or extended coverage when business needs require.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical foundation may be considered, depending on business need and hiring manager requirements.
  • Relevant internship, OJT, capstone, maintenance, manufacturing, automation, electronics, or equipment-related experience is an advantage.
  • High learning agility, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
