Job summary

AboitizPower in the Philippines is seeking an Environmental Safety Specialist (PCO) to serve as the primary technical expert for environmental compliance, hazardous chemical and waste management, and permitting. You will lead permit procurement, monitor facilities, and coordinate with DENR, EMB, and LGUs while promoting sustainable practices across our distribution and generation assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related science field.
• Accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) by DENR-EMB; Registered Engineer preferred.
• At least two years of experience in environmental management or industrial compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental permits, clearances, and regulatory reports required by DENR, EMB, DOH, and LGUs.
• Conduct monitoring and inspections of environmental and chemical hazards across sites.
• Manage hazardous chemical handling, storage, transport, and disposal per legal and IMS procedures.
• Ensure compliance with solid waste management laws and sustainability practices.
• Conduct environmental audits and inspections and recommend mitigation plans.

As an Environmental Safety Specialist (PCO), you will serve as the primary technical specialist responsible for environmental compliance, hazardous chemical and waste management, and environmental permitting.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Environmental Compliance & Permitting:

• Manage and secure all environmental permits, clearances, and regulatory compliance reports required by DENR, EMB, DOH, and LGUs.
• Conduct regular monitoring and inspections of environmental and chemical hazards across distribution sites and facilities.
• Manage hazardous chemical and materials handling, storage, transport, and disposal in accordance with legal requirements and IMS procedures.
• Ensure strict adherence to environmental solid waste management laws and corporate sustainability practices.
• Conduct environmental audits and inspections to evaluate operational compliance and recommend mitigation plans.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related science field.
• License / Accreditation: Accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) by DENR-EMB; Registered Engineer preferred.
• Professional Experience: At least two (2) years of work experience in environmental management, hazardous waste handling, or industrial compliance.
