Job summary

Aurecon seeks an Environmental Project Consultant to join our team in the Philippines. You will deliver environmental consulting services across diverse projects, provide technical leadership, and help drive sustainable outcomes while aligning with client needs and regulatory standards.

You will manage field studies, prepare high-quality reports, coordinate with clients and authorities, and mentor junior staff to uphold excellence in environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology, Sustainability, Natural Resources Management, or related field.
• Experience with Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and ESMS audits.
• Proven ability in project management, field investigations, technical report writing, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental and social consulting projects across multiple sectors and clients.
• Lead or support projects as Project Manager, Technical Lead, or SME as appropriate.
• Conduct environmental and social assessments, site investigations, due diligence, impact studies, and planning.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise fieldwork, baseline studies, stakeholder consultations, surveys, site assessments.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental and social data; document findings.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and permit applications.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Coordinate relationships with clients, regulatory authorities, subcontractors, and partners.
• Monitor progress to ensure deliverables meet timelines, budgets, quality, and regulations.
• Provide technical leadership on environmental, social, sustainability, and compliance matters.
• Conduct quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency of deliverables.
• Support business development through proposals, tenders, and client presentations.
• Contribute to methodological improvements, templates, and service offerings.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing and capacity building.
• Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and GIIP trends.

What will you do?

In this position you will play an integral part in a team of specialists that 'bring ideas to life' for our clients across all types of projects - including significant infrastructure projects.

As Environmental Project Consultant, you will provide environmental consulting and project delivery support across a broad portfolio of projects. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality technical solutions, support the development and management of client relationships, and help ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry requirements. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will assist in achieving successful project outcomes while supporting commercial objectives, operational excellence, and sustainable development goals.

Below are some of the things you will be doing to support “bringing ideas to life”:

• Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of environmental and social consulting projects across various sectors and clients.
• Lead or support projects in the capacity of Project Manager, Technical Lead, or subject matter expert, as appropriate.
• Undertake environmental and social assessments, site investigations, due diligence studies, impact assessments, planning studies, compliance reviews, and related technical analyses.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise fieldwork activities, including baseline studies, stakeholder consultations, surveys, and site assessments.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental and social data, ensuring findings are accurate, well-documented, and aligned with project objectives.
• Prepare and review high-quality technical reports, proposals, permit applications, and other project deliverables in accordance with client, regulatory, and industry requirements.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, staffing, and risk management to ensure successful project execution.
• Coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with clients, regulatory authorities, subcontractors, project partners, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, advice, and recommendations to clients and project teams on environmental, social, sustainability, and compliance matters.
• Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of project deliverables.
• Support business development activities through opportunity identification, proposal preparation, tender submissions, client presentations, bid support, and networking opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of methodologies, templates, best practices, and service offerings.
• Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to junior consultants and technical staff, while supporting knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives.
• Stay informed of relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and emerging industry trends to maintain technical excellence.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required to support business and project objectives.

What can you bring to the team?

• Relevant experience in environmental consulting, sustainability, environmental planning, impact assessment, permitting, or related fields.
• Experience conducting Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD), E&S compliance audits, and Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) audits.
• DENR-EMB-accredited EIA Preparer, with experience in EIA/ESIA/ESDD and environmental compliance assessments.
• Knowledge of international environmental and social frameworks, including ADB, AIIB, IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines, Equator Principles, and other GIIP requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology, Sustainability, Natural Resources Management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine environmental regulations, permitting requirements, environmental legislation, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, proposal preparation, field investigations, technical report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and supporting business development initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in multidisciplinary consulting, engineering, infrastructure, or environmental project environments.
