Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a Technician 1 to support assembly and testing of PCB hardware used in engineering and production environments. You will move materials, hand-solder components, review BOMs, and update documentation to ensure accurate test support operations.

Ideal candidates have a 2-year tech diploma, 0–1 year in electronics, and a willingness to learn. Overtime during peak production may be required and deployment to other lab sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 2-year technology program in Electronics, Electrical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics.
• 0–1 year of PCB assembly or electronics related experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and work overtime during peak production.

Responsibilities

• Move materials from warehouse to lab for stocking.
• Hand solder PCBs and test hardware as required.
• Review and manage component lists (BOM).
• Check part numbers and component availability.
• Request purchases for out-of-stock items to prevent downtime.
• Identify and replace obsolete components during testing.
• Update BOM documentation for traceability.
• Maintain work logs for tracking and quality purposes.
• Assist in basic troubleshooting of test hardware.
