Job summary

Smart Communications, Inc. is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect with 15+ years of experience to define and govern end-to-end architecture across business, data, applications, cloud and technology domains.

You will drive digital transformation by delivering scalable, secure, future-ready solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will maintain architecture governance, lead decision forums, and mentor delivery teams while exploring AI/ML, edge computing, and API monetization

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Data Science/Analytics/AI Engineering; postgraduate advantage in enterprise architecture, data or cloud.
• 15+ years of experience in Solution Architecture.
• 5-10 years in a telco environment.
• Hands-on OSS/BSS modernization, AI/Analytics platform implementation, Cloud migration or API monetization.
• Collaborated with C-levels, product owners, delivery teams and vendor partners.
• Participated in Design Architecture Boards, enforced design standards, and managed technical debt and exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and governance of Enterprise Architecture across Business, Data, Applications, Cloud and Technology domains to enable strategic business objectives.
• Maintain and govern the enterprise architecture toolset and asset inventory, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability of architecture models, technology assets, and system interdependencies across the enterprise.
• Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to translate requirements into architecture blueprints and solution options.
• Collaborate with Business, IT, Network, and Security teams to align technology solutions with business needs and operational goals.
• Define and maintain Enterprise Architecture Principles, Standards, and Patterns ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead architecture governance forums and decision-making bodies for architecture approvals and exception processes.
• Provide thought leadership and mentorship to solution architects and project teams; turn over architecture blueprints and reference models to delivery teams.
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies (AI/ML, Edge, Automation, Network APIs) and their applicability to telco models.
• Ensure architecture enables customer experience, operational efficiency, security, scalability, and monetization objectives.
• Partner with external groups on technology cost optimization and business case development for strategic investments.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science & Analytics, Artificial intelligence Engineering or related field (Postgraduate degree is an advantage, particularly in enterprise architecture, data, or cloud disciplines)

EXPERIENCE

At least 15+ years of experience in Solution Architecture

• 5 -10 years in a telco environment.
• Proven experience in delivering Target State architecture coming from transition and legacy architecture across domains.
• Hands-on experience in OSS/BSS modernization, AI/Analytics platform implementation, Cloud migration or API monetization.
• Closely collaborated with C levels, product owners, delivery teams and vendor partners.
• Participated in Design Architecture Boards, enforced design standards, and managed technical debt and exceptions.
• Use of Architecture and Modeling Tools including integration with CMDBs or asset inventories.

BASIC SCOPE:

Smart Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end architecture strategy across business, data, application, network and technology domains to align with enterprise goals and drive digital transformation. Implement scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams, guiding solution design, and managing architecture governance.

REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the design, development, and governance of Enterprise Architecture across Business, Data, Applications, Cloud and Technology domains to enable strategic business objectives.
• Maintain and govern the enterprise architecture toolset and asset inventory, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability of architecture models, technology assets, and system interdependencies across the enterprise.
• Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to understand, interpret, and translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into architecture blueprints and solution options.
• Collaborate with Business, IT, Network, and Security teams to align technology solutions with business needs and operational goals.
• Define and maintain Enterprise Architecture Principles, Standards, and Patterns ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead architecture governance forums and decision-making bodies for architecture approvals and exception processes.
• Provide thought leadership and mentorship to solution architects and project teams across programs and initiatives. Turn over architecture blueprints, design decision matrices, and reference models to delivery teams to support consistent and governed implementation.
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies (AI/ML, Edge, Automation, Network APIs) and their applicability to telco business models.
• Ensure architecture enables customer experience, operational efficiency, security, scalability, and monetization objectives.
• Partner with external groups on technology cost optimization and business case development for strategic investments.
