Job summary

The City of New Smyrna Beach Development Services Department is seeking an Engineering Construction Inspector to oversee drainage, roadway, and infrastructure projects, ensuring inspections and tests comply with federal, state, local codes and contractual provisions.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate’s Degree preferred and at least three years of construction management or inspection experience.

Qualifications

• HSD or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred in Construction Management Technology or similar field.
• Three (3) years of experience in construction management or inspection for utility and stormwater projects.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.

• Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM

About The Job

The Engineering Construction Inspector oversees drainage, roadway, and infrastructure projects within the City to ensure they are sufficiently inspected and tested in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local codes and standards, and contractual provisions.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Construction Management Technology or similar field preferred; three (3) years of experience in charge of construction management or construction inspection for utility and stormwater infrastructure projects; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Valid Florida Driver's License
