Job summary

Shangri-La The Fort, Manila is seeking a Chief Engineer to ensure the safe, efficient operation of the plant and machinery within the Horizon Homes complex. You will manage, coach and supervise engineering technicians, and organize records for future planning.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of international hotel experience, a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and strong English communication skills. A proactive, team-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an international hotel or similar capacity.
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Knowledge of major hotel plant equipment (boilers, chillers, generators).
• Fluent in written and spoken English preferred.
• Outgoing, people-oriented, initiative and professional values.

Shangri-La The Fort, Manila is located within Fort Bonifacio, a former military base and city centre. With 60 storeys high, the complex is comprised of 576 hotel guestrooms and, 97 hotel residences and 98 exclusive Horizon Homes, the high rise building is a Manila landmark. The new hotel complements the company's five existing properties in the Philippines.

The mixed-use business, residential and retail tower is located along 5th Avenue and 30th Street, within the new, fast-developing Taguig business district. It is a 30-minute drive from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and is also close to the Manila Golf Club and Manila Polo Club, 10 minutes from Makati district, the capital's financial, cultural and entertainment hub with first-class shopping malls.

Duties

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Chief Engineer of Horizon Homes and within the limits established by policies, procedures and Engineering Manual, maintain the safe and efficient operation of the plant, machine room and all their accessories and auxiliaries. Manage, coach and supervises engineering technicians. Will also organise the records for future planning.

Requirements

• Preferably with minimum 1 year experience in an international hotel or in the same capacity.
• Preferably a graduate of B.S. Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• Preferably knowledgeable in major equipment such as Boiler, Chiller, Generator, etc.
• Prefearably fluent in both oral and written English.
• Preferably outgoing and people oriented.
• Preferably displays initiative and commitment to professional values.
• Creative and with an eye for details.
• Motivator, self-starter and a team-builder.
