Job summary

Energy Development Corporation seeks an Operator to support Area Control Operations. You will conduct roving inspections, perform local valve operations, and manage start-up/shut-down of turbines and related equipment, ensuring safety and data integrity.

You will monitor process parameters, respond to alarms, and log readings to support ongoing reliable energy generation. Strong adherence to procedures is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in field operations is preferred.
• Ability to interpret process data and follow safety procedures.

Area Control Operations (Execution)

• Roving Inspection: Conducts physical rounds of the facility equipment to verify fi eld operation's parameter / data based on ACC's instructions; Makes the necessary service request for field or maintenance personnel to address equipment problems as necessary.
• Inspection Route Completion (%) Timely arrival at site during call-out Verification Accuracy of remote vs. local readings
• Local Intervention: Performs manual valve operations , changeover of equipment, and local breaker switching upon instructions by ACC during emergency; Executes start-up, shut-down, and load ramping of turbine-generators and steamfi eld valves via local/fi eld HMI; Acknowledges and responds to system alarms locally in case of ACC HMI failure / unavailability.
• Load Optimization Fuel Monitoring: Checks brine levels, sump levels, and steam line physical conditions to ensure continuous fuel supply for generation.
• Station Service Usage (Aux Power) deviation Steam Loss reporting (leaks identifi ed) Effi ciency Check: Inspects cooling tower fans and motive steam valves to ensure auxiliaries are running effi ciently. Equipment Check: Inspects pumps, motors, coolers, and auxiliaries to ensure they are running effi ciently. Performance Monitoring Parametric Logging: Records local gauge readings (pressure, temperature, levels) and compares them with Control Room telemetry to identify sensor drift.
• Report Generation: Assists in compiling the data for the Daily Operations Report (DOR). Sensor Drift Identifi cation (Count) Log Sheet Accuracy Permitting & Safety Rules
• Isolation Authority: Acts as Senior Authorized Person (SAP); Determines and verifi es isolation boundaries for safety permits.
• Switching Execution: Performs remote electrical switching for substations/lines following approved switching programs.
• LOTO Application: Physically applies Locks and Tags (LOTO) at the isolation points identifi ed by the Lead; Verifi es zero energy state.
• Safety Watch: Acts as a safety observer for critical activities occurring during the shift.
• Zero LOTO Application Errors Safety Audit Findings (Near Misses reported) Regulatory Requests & Reports
• Physical Verifi cation: Physically verifi es the position of disconnect switches or earthing trucks required for regulatory reporting of "Safety Status." Verifi cation Accuracy Timely feedback to Desk Lead
• People Development & BEST Culture Skill Acquisition: Completes the "Field Operator to Desk Operator" progression training curriculum.
• Feedback: Actively seeks feedback from the Shift Lead/Head on operational precision during check-ins.
