Job summary

Energy Development Corporation is seeking a Logistics Strategy Analyst to strengthen inbound and outbound operations, optimize customs clearance, and leverage duty exemptions and FTAs. You will collaborate with operations, procurement and finance to implement cost-effective, safe cargo handling and timely releases, while tracking KPIs and coordinating with brokers and government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify areas for improvement to optimize benefits from duty exemption and Free Trade Agreements, timely release of cargoes from Customs for imported and exported goods/equipment, and prompt, cost effective, and safe material handling and transshipment.
  • Tracks development and provide analysis to the Head-Logistics on International Logistics trends/challenges (congestions, surges in rates), Customs Rules, Free Trade Agreements among other to better manage EDC's Importations and Exportations
  • Recommends to Head-Logistics short and long term solutions to address the logistics problems/gaps
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance, to implement logistics strategies aligned with business goals
  • Leads in the crafting of Scope of Works when engaging Freight Forwarder, Brokers and Service Providers
  • Comprehensively reviews performance of the nominated freight forwarders and brokers through established KPIs and standards
  • Ensures overall compliance with relevant international and Philippine Government rules, regulations and standards
  • Establish a process for document filing of all released shipments for storage and easy retrieval of records
  • Interfaces with Logistics analaysts and site Warehouse teams to develop and implement an effective strategy for monitoring all shipments and strategizing safe loading/unloading execution
  • Ensures carrier/haulers/brokers compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
  • Reviews cost analysis done by the Logistics Analysts to establish the most beneficial and economical means of cargo delivery and transportation
  • Liaises and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to reduce risks to as low as reasonably possible
  • Conducts port and site operations for major transshipment such as bulk material deliveries, rig and drilling equipment mobilization/demobilization, and heavy equipment transfers, ensuring safety compliance and timely completion
  • Data Analysis Establish logistics data for reporting to the Head - Logistics Analyze internal and external data to identify areas of improvements
  • Administrative Works Represents the company during random audits of internal and external parties
  • Source and create networks of freight forwarders, brokers, warehouse providers, truckers and haulers to support the operational requirements of EDC
  • Implements logistics contracts for equipment, hauling and other logistical services ensuring compliance to contract terms and conditions
  • Monitors and Leads in the processing of billing invoices of freight forwarders/brokers (brokerage, delivery and advances) and other service providers to ensure timely payment
  • Leads the daily scrum events, Monitors Logistics KPIs, conduct sprint retrospectives, and ensures that targets and plans are consistently met.

Ensures overall compliance with relevant international and Philippine Government rules, regulations and standards Works closely with the Head-Logistics and liaises with brokers and government institutions such as Department of Energy, Bureau of Customs, Board of Investments and Department of Finance to maximize availment of duty free privilege or Free Trade Agreements and ensure timely release of materials/equipment from Customs.
