Job summary

OceanaGold (Philippines) Inc. is seeking a qualified Engineer- Mine Planning to ensure efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible extraction of mineral resources at the Didipio mine in Luzon, Philippines.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mine Planning, you will develop plans and assess risks across underground operations. The role requires 2+ years in underground mining, a valid Mining Engineer registration, and experience with Deswik CAD/INX and blasting practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’+ experience in underground mining operations.
• Registered Mining Engineer.
• Driver’s license advantageous; Radio Operator’s License advantageous.
• Experience in surface and underground mining operations.
• Proficiency in Deswik CAD and INX; knowledge of drilling and blasting practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops short-term and long-term mine plans.
• Analyzes geological data to optimize plans.
• Assists in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
• Assesses factors affecting task delivery and project goals.
• Identifies risks including potential errors or fraud.
• Communicates impacts of risks and recommends actions.
• Assesses constructability and feasibility of projects.
• Evaluates risk, reliability, and uncertainty in designs and their broader impacts.

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper.Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliableEngineer- Mine Planning, who willensuring efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible extraction of mineral resources. This role will report to theSenior Engineer - Mine Planning.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Develops short-term and long-term mine plans
• Analyzes geological data to optimize plans
• Assist in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans
• Examines and defines factors that could adversely affect project task completion, delivery of contractual work products or achievement of departmental and organizational goals
• Identifies the risks of negative outcomes (including error or fraud)
• Communicates the impact of identified risks and recommends corrective action
• Analyzes the constructability or manufacturing feasibility of a project
• Identifies and assesses risk, reliability, and/or uncertainty in the design of an engineered component, system, or process including its impacts on the environment, economy, and society

Qualifications

• 2 years’+ experience within the underground mining environment or equivalent
• Registered Mining Engineer
• Driver’s license advantageous
• Radio Operator’s License advantageous
• Experience in mining operations (Surface and Underground)
• Knowledge inDeswik CAD, INX, principles of Drilling and Blasting, and production and development blasting schemes
