Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking an experienced Engineer- Mine Planning for the Didipio mine in the Philippines. You will develop short-term and long-term mine plans, analyze geological data, and participate in risk assessments to ensure safe, efficient extraction of minerals.

The role requires underground mining experience and a licensed Mining Engineer. Travel to sites and operation of Deswik CAD/INX tools will be part of daily tasks; a valid Driver’s license is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of underground mining experience or equivalent.
• Registered Mining Engineer license.
• Driver's license and Radio Operator's License are advantageous.
• Experience in mining operations (Surface and Underground).
• Knowledge in Deswik CAD, INX, drilling and blasting principles.

Responsibilities

• Develops short-term and long-term mine plans.
• Analyzes geological data to optimize plans.
• Assist in risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans.
• Examines factors that could affect task completion or contractual delivery.
• Identifies risks of negative outcomes (including error or fraud).
• Communicates impact of identified risks and recommends corrective action.
• Analyzes constructability or feasibility of a project.
• Identifies and assesses risk and uncertainty in design and its environmental/economic/societal impacts.

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper.Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support themine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliableEngineer- Mine Planning, who willensuring efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible extraction of mineral resources. This role will report to theSenior Engineer—MinePlanning.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Develops short-term and long-term mineplans
• Analyzes geological data to optimizeplans
• Assist in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigationplans
• Examines and defines factors that could adversely affect project task completion, delivery of contractual work products or achievement of departmental and organizational goals
• Identifies the risks of negative outcomes (including error orfraud)
• Communicates the impact of identified risks and recommends correctiveaction
• Analyzes the constructability or manufacturing feasibility of aproject
• Identifies and assesses risk, reliability, and/or uncertainty in the design of an engineered component, system, or process including its impacts on the environment, economy, andsociety

Qualifications

• 2 years’+ experience within the underground mining environment orequivalent
• Registered MiningEngineer
• Driver’s license advantageous
• Radio Operator’s License advantageous
• Experience in mining operations (Surface and Underground)
• Knowledge inDeswik CAD, INX, principles of Drilling and Blasting, and production and development blastingschemes
