Job summary

Microchip Technology is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our Analog Peripheral Interface Division (APID) in Manila. You will contribute to pre- and post-silicon test activities for high-volume IC production, working with global teams across design, validation, manufacturing, and quality.

The role emphasizes test program development, ATE board design, and data-driven improvements in yield, cost, and quality. Strong C/C++ and VBA, plus experience with SPEA/ETS/J750, are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Engineering field or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in Semiconductor Test Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with ATE hardware/software (SPEA, ETS, J750).
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop pre-silicon characterization test plans based on product features.
  • Perform test program development and ATE board design for new and existing product initiatives.
  • Support R&D and Operations to ensure manufacturability and compliance with quality systems.
  • Debug test programs and execute characterization plans.
  • Analyze silicon performance, yield, and device marginalities.
  • Drive cost and quality improvements across wafer fabrication, assembly, probe, final test, and supply chain.
  • Conduct production test yield analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Support analysis of customer returns and drive enhancements in manufacturing and test processes.
  • Collaborate with customer quality and applications teams to resolve issues and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Design and develop PCBs for IC environmental qualification.
  • Analyze multi-source data and generate reports for characterization, qualification, and yield analysis.
  • Technical Ownership - takes responsibility for test development, debug, characterization, qualification, and sustaining deliverables.
  • Analytical Problem Solving - uses structured data analysis and root cause methods to resolve issues.

Education
  • BSEE/BSECE or equivalent with 3+ years of experience, preferably in Semiconductor Test Engineering.
Technical Foundation
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuits, from transistor to system level.
Programming
  • Experience with C/C++ and VBA programming.
ATE Experience
  • Hands-on experience with ATE hardware/software development.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as SPEA, ETS, or J750.
Validation and Correlation
  • Knowledge of silicon development, validation, qualification, and correlation methodologies.
Quality and Standards
  • Familiarity with automotive standards and semiconductor quality requirements.
Data Analysis
  • Strong statistical data analysis skills, including MSA, GRR, and ANOVA.
Tools and Systems
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and SVN.
  • Proficient in Windows-based environments.
  • Skilled in using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and related instruments.
Communication
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with customers and global teams.
Flexibility
  • Ability to work effectively with global teams and accommodate shared lab schedules.
