Aboitiz Power Corporation seeks an Energy Trading Specialist in Cebu City, Philippines. You will ensure hourly demand is met using the least-cost mix of bilateral contracts and WESM purchases. You will monitor prices, outages, and market conditions to support cost-efficient power procurement decisions.

Working with the Utility Economics team, you will contribute to reliable power supply, market insights, and professional growth in a purpose-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in data analytics, market analysis, or energy trading is preferred.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and sound judgment under time pressure.
• Comfortable working with large datasets, spreadsheets, and market/price data tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination.
• Willing and able to work night shifts to support real-time market monitoring.
• Knowledge of the Philippine electricity market is an advantage.

Energy Trading Specialist

As Energy Trading Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the distribution utility's hourly electricity demand is met through the least-cost combination of Bilateral Contracts and purchases from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). The role involves continuous monitoring of WESM prices, generation plant outages, and market conditions to support timely, cost-effective, and reliable power procurement decisions and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with AP DU Utility Economics Department to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Monitor market and system constraints (plant outages,distribution outages, transmission limits, etc)

• Monitor and ensure that power supply outage allowance arein accordance with the power supply contract.
• Comprehend commercial terms of Power Supply Agreements(PSA)
• Nominate optimal Bilateral Contract Quantities (BCQ) to allsuppliers.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
