Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking an Energy Trading Specialist to ensure the distribution utility's hourly electricity demand is met through the least-cost combination of Bilateral Contracts and purchases from WESM. You will monitor WESM prices, generation plant outages, and market conditions to support timely, cost-effective power procurement decisions and contribute to transforming energy for a better world.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or related field.
Preferably with experience in data analytics, market analysis, or energy trading.
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and sound judgment under time pressure.
Comfortable working with large datasets, spreadsheets, and market/price data tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and cross-functional coordination.
Willing and able to work on shifting schedules, including night shifts, to support real-time market monitoring.
Knowledge of the Philippine electricity market is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Monitor market and system constraints (plant outages, distribution outages, transmission limits, etc).
Nominate optimal Bilateral Contract Quantities (BCQ) to all suppliers.
