This role will support the company's founding partners by managing electrical estimating responsibilities, preparing accurate bid packages, and coordinating with field service managers to ensure project scopes are properly priced.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both blueprint-based electrical estimating and service or design-build estimating. This includes performing complete quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and preparing estimates from field scope notes when formal blueprints are unavailable.
This position requires strong proficiency in AccuBid, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple estimates and submission deadlines. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of assigned work, and communicating directly with U.S.-based stakeholders.
The role starts at 20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as estimating volume increases.
Review electrical construction drawings and specifications to perform complete quantity takeoffs.
Develop detailed material and labor cost estimates for commercial electrical projects.
Prepare accurate estimates based on formal plan-and-spec bid packages.
Organize and submit professional estimating documents ready for bid submission.
Identify discrepancies, missing information, or potential pricing concerns before finalizing estimates.
Prepare electrical estimates for service, repair, upgrade, and emergency electrical projects.
Review scope-of-work notes provided by field service managers following job-site walkthroughs.
Translate field scope notes into accurate material and labor estimates, even when formal blueprints are unavailable.
Coordinate with field personnel to clarify project requirements and confirm scope details.
Ensure estimates accurately reflect actual site conditions and project requirements.
Support timely pricing for urgent service requests and changing project priorities.
Manage multiple active estimating assignments and track bid submission deadlines.
Maintain organized records of submitted bids, awarded projects, and pending decisions.
Coordinate with the founding partners to prioritize estimating opportunities based on scope and timeline.
Monitor outstanding estimates and proactively communicate progress or potential delays.
Ensure estimating deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
Build and price electrical estimates using AccuBid estimating software.
Use BuildOps to support emergency service tracking and estimating handoffs.
Maintain accurate estimating records, project documentation, and digital files.
Adapt to evolving estimating workflows and operational systems as the company grows.
Work closely with the founding partners and field service managers to support estimating operations.
Communicate clearly and professionally regarding project scopes, pricing, and bid requirements.
Participate in client-facing bid or scope review calls when required.
Assist with bid correspondence and client-facing estimating documentation.
Proactively flag incomplete scope information, pricing concerns, or potential submission delays.
Take ownership of assigned estimating responsibilities without requiring constant supervision.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on electrical estimating experience.
Experience supporting U.S.-based electrical contractors or construction companies.
Demonstrated proficiency in both blueprint-based estimating and field-driven service or design-build estimating.
Ability to perform complete electrical quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
Proven experience preparing electrical estimates from field scope notes without formal blueprints.
Strong proficiency in AccuBid estimating software is required. Candidates must be able to use the platform independently from day one.
Solid understanding of electrical materials, labor pricing, and commercial electrical construction.
Experience preparing complete electrical bid packages and managing multiple estimating deadlines.
Ability to interpret incomplete scope information, identify missing details, and coordinate necessary clarifications.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, including the ability to discuss estimates confidently during live calls.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong accountability, reliability, and follow-through.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
Comfortable learning BuildOps and adapting to new operational systems.

Previous experience supporting a high-volume estimating function.
