Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in electrical estimating or related field.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with takeoffs and preliminary labour estimates.
- Proficient in Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift and Excel.
Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and tender documents to understand project scope.
- Prepare accurate material quantity takeoffs for industrial and municipal electrical projects (conduit, cable, wiring, fixtures, switchboards, MCCs, etc).
- Develop preliminary labour-hour estimates for electrical installation activities using productivity standards.
- Identify drawing inconsistencies and missing information; prepare clarifications or RFIs.
- Compile organized estimating packages for Senior Estimator review.
- Maintain estimating databases, material libraries, and historical costs.
- Assist with bid revisions, addenda reviews, and scope updates.
- Utilize estimating software and Excel for takeoffs and process improvements.
