Job summary

Unichamp Mineral Philippines is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical systems at our plant. You will work with Maintenance and Operations to keep equipment safe, reliable and productive.

The ideal candidate holds a PRC Registered Electrical Engineer license, has experience in mining or industrial plants, and demonstrates hands-on problem-solving and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a PRC Registered Electrical Engineer license.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, quarrying or industrial plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability.
• Experience with rotating equipment and preventative maintenance.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for plant electrical maintenance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and improve preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Support planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades and plant improvement initiatives.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications and work orders to support maintenance activities.
• Mentor and provide guidance to electricians, technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTOTO procedures and company policies.

Electrical Engineer (1 year fixed-term contract)

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical systems across our operating plant. Working closely with Maintenance and Operations, you will ensure equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently while minimising unplanned downtime.

Key Focus Areas The Role Will Include:

• Provide technical support for plant electrical maintenance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and improve preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Support planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades and plant improvement initiatives.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications and work orders to support maintenance activities.
• Maintain and improve electrical equipment including motors, drives, switchgear, MCCs and power distribution systems.
• Investigate equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
• Prepare specifications for electrical spare parts, materials and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, safety and production performance.
• Provide technical guidance to skilled tradespeople and maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, isolation and Lockout/TagoutTryout (LOTOTO) procedures, statutory requirements and company policies.
• Champion continuous improvement, initiatives that enhance equipment performance, operational efficiency, energy utilization, and maintenance effectiveness
• Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and external contractors to deliver safe, cost-effective and reliable maintenance solutions
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to electricians, technicians, and maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of safety, learning and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve plant reliability, reduce maintenance costs, extend equipment life, and support production targets.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have a qualification as a Registered Electrical Engineer.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, quarrying or industrial plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability.
• Experience with rotating equipment and preventative maintenance.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
