Job summary

Graymont is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical systems across our operating plant. Working closely with Maintenance and Operations, you will ensure equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently while minimising unplanned downtime.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Electrical Engineer with experience in mining, manufacturing, quarrying or industrial environments, strong knowledge of electrical maintenance,

Qualifications

• Registered Electrical Engineer qualification.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, quarrying or industrial plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability.
• Experience with rotating equipment and preventative maintenance.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for plant electrical maintenance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and improve preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Support planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades and plant improvement initiatives.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications and work orders to support maintenance activities.
• Maintain and improve electrical equipment including motors, drives, switchgear, MCCs and power distribution systems.
• Investigate equipment failures and conduct RCFA.
• Prepare specifications for electrical spare parts, materials and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, safety and production performance.
• Provide technical guidance to skilled tradespeople and maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, isolation and LOTOTO procedures, statutory requirements and company policies.
• Champion continuous improvement and energy utilization initiatives.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and external contractors to deliver safe, cost-effective maintenance solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to electricians, technicians, and maintenance personnel.

Involved in plant engineering, construction, commissioning and startup operation, repair and maintenance including responsible to lead a team of electrical and instrumentation personnel to ensure plant electrical and instrumentation

Our Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical systems across our operating plant. Key Focus Areas the Role Will Include:

Provide technical support for plant electrical maintenance and reliability.

Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.

Develop and improve preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.

Support planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades and plant improvement initiatives.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:

Experience in mining, manufacturing, quarrying or industrial plant environments.

Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability.

Experience with rotating equipment and preventative maintenance.
