Job summary

Soliman ECOWASTE MANAGEMENT CORPORATION in the Philippines is seeking an EHS Specialist to strengthen the team and support both our facility and client sites. You will implement, monitor, and improve environmental, health, and safety programs under the guidance of the PCO/EHSS Manager.

Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, Environmental Impact Assessments, safety audits, training, and on-site client support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or related field.
• 1 year of relevant experience in environmental management, safety, or regulatory compliance preferred.

Soliman EC is committed to sustainable industrial practices. We operate a Treatment, Storage, and Disposal (TSD) Facility and a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) . We partner with diverse clients to ensure their operations meet the standards of environmental health and safety. We are looking for a dedicated EHS Specialist to strengthen our team and support both our facility and our clients’ sites.

Role Overview

The EHS Specialist will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs. Working under the guidance of the Pollution Control Officer (PCO) / EHSS Manager, you will conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) , perform regulatory compliance monitoring, and ensure safety protocols are in place across Soliman’s facility and client project sites.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring

• Assist in the preparation and submission of environmental compliance reports (SMRs, discharge monitoring, hazardous waste reports) for Soliman and supported client facilities.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with DENR, DOLE, and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain updated records of permits, certificates, and environmental documents for both company and client sites.

2. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

• Participate in the conduct of Environmental Impact Assessments for new projects, expansions, or client facilities.
• Gather and analyze baseline environmental data (air, water, noise, soil) and assist in the preparation of EIA reports and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
• Coordinate with local government units and stakeholders during public consultations if required.

3. Safety & Occupational Health

• Implement and monitor safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, hazard communication, and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Facilitate safety orientations and toolbox talks for personnel working at Soliman and client sites.

4. Client & Site Support

• Serve as the on-site EHS representative for client projects, ensuring contractor safety and environmental compliance.
• Assist clients in securing environmental permits and complying with EHS requirements.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with client EHS teams and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in environmental management, safety, or regulatory compliance (internships and OJT may be considered if substantive).
• Knowledge:
• Familiarity with Philippine environmental laws (RA 6969, RA 8749, RA 9275, PD 1586) and DOLE safety standards.
• Basic understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes.
• Experience in environmental sampling and monitoring is an advantage.
• Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare technical reports.
• Willing to conduct field work and travel to various client sites.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license is a plus.
