The Editor-in-Chief holds editorial authority over the site and is accountable for its traffic, audience loyalty, and revenue (programmatic advertising and sponsored content), while personally writing and shaping the stories that set the site apart.
Define the website’s editorial positioning, voice, content pillars, and publishing standards so it stands out among Philippine entertainment sites.
Run the daily showbiz news desk: story meetings, assignments, breaking news, embargoes, and seven-day coverage of TV5 shows, stars, events, and the wider entertainment industry.
Personally write and edit high-value pieces such as exclusives, in-depth interviews, star profiles, and cover-style features.
Maintain and grow a network of talents, talent managers, publicists, producers, and industry insiders to secure exclusives, first looks, set visits, and interviews for TV5 and partner talent.
Handle sensitive showbiz stories (relationships, controversies, health, legal matters) with fairness, verification, and restraint, and coordinate with Corporate Communications and Legal on issues involving the network or its talents.
Originate digital-first editorial franchises: recurring columns, episode recaps for primetime shows, explainers, fan guides, lists, quizzes, galleries, and video-led articles.
Work with the Social Media & Community, YouTube, and Digital Originals teams to turn stories into cross-platform packages and to feed articles from video content and vice versa.
Lead search, Google Discover, and Google News strategy; respond fast to trending topics; craft headlines that win clicks without eroding reader trust.
Work with GAM Operations to optimize ad inventory, page templates, viewability, and yield while protecting the reader experience.
Develop sponsored content, advertorial, and branded section formats with the Business Growth Partner and Commercial team, ensuring clear labeling and separation between editorial and paid content.
Lead, coach, and develop writers, producers, and contributors; maintain the style guide, corrections policy, and editorial quality standards.
Ensure compliance with Company policies, libel and defamation laws, copyright and image rights, data privacy, and platform requirements.

At least 3 to 5 years managing a digital newsroom or website with traffic and revenue accountability.
An established personal network of talents, talent managers, publicists, and producers who can grant access and exclusives.
A strong writing portfolio of interviews, features, and scoops, plus a track record of originating new editorial formats that grew readership.
Understanding of Filipino fandom culture and how fans consume and share showbiz news.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Mass Communication, Digital Media, English, Literature, or a related field.
Equivalent industry credentials (a strong portfolio of produced, published, or showrun entertainment content) may be considered in lieu of a specific degree.
Hands-on command of CMS platforms, SEO, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console, real-time content analytics).
