The Creative Video Editor and Content Creator turns footage into clear, engaging stories for The Bureau PH's clients, including public figures and public affairs accounts. The role combines video editing with concept development and social media content creation. The position requires creative initiative and ownership of the edit through final delivery.
Review the brief and available footage, identify the strongest story, and recommend the opening, sequence, and ending. Raise questions when the message or supporting material is unclear.
Contribute original concepts, scripts, and editing treatments during content planning. Suggest fresh angles and additional videos that can be developed from existing material.
Edit short and longer videos for social media, including interviews, event stories, explainers, and client features. Shape each piece around a clear message and an appropriate pace.
Use dialogue, supporting footage, music, and sound to develop the narrative. Choose moments that advance the story and remove material that weakens its focus.
Prepare accurate subtitles, on-screen copy, titles, and basic motion graphics. Complete sound cleanup and colour correction so the finished video is clear and consistent.
Adapt videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Recommend suitable lengths, openings, cover images, and alternate cuts for each intended use.
Work with the content producer before and after shoots. Identify missing footage or information and suggest practical ways to resolve gaps in the story.
Present edits with a clear creative rationale, consolidate feedback, and complete revisions accurately. Coordinate final versions with the producer and project manager for review and approval.
Review video performance with the team, including where viewers stop watching when that information is available. Use the findings to improve future storytelling and edits.
Check factual details and preserve the context of statements. Maintain organised project files, source assets, versions, and exports, and deliver approved assets to the publishing owner.
Demonstrated video editing experience supported by a portfolio showing strong storytelling, pacing, and an understanding of social media content.
Ability to develop a narrative from raw footage and make independent creative recommendations about the hook, structure, supporting visuals, and ending.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable editing software. Capable of managing projects from initial assembly through final export.
Practical skill in audio cleanup, colour correction, subtitling, and basic motion graphics.
Understanding of how content is presented across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, including suitable formats, framing, pacing, and readable on-screen text.
Strong comprehension of Filipino and English, with the ability to assess dialogue, check captions, preserve meaning, and suggest concise on-screen copy.
Ability to manage several edits, estimate turnaround times, communicate progress, and work constructively with creative feedback and changing priorities.
Experience with public affairs, news, political communications, or content for public figures is an advantage. Basic filming skills are also useful.
Advanced animation or motion design experience is an advantage.
Take ownership of the story and technical quality of each assigned video. Bring solutions when footage is incomplete, flag risks to delivery early, and check work before submitting it for review.
