Job description

As a Deputy Manager - Maintenance (Utilities) within the Utility Maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all mechanical utility systems across our manufacturing facilities. You will take charge of troubleshooting and repairing mechanical power presses, EOT cranes, and associated hydraulic and pneumatic systems, applying extensive knowledge of maintenance best practices including PM uptime, MTTR, and MTBF metrics.

Your key deliverables will include monitoring and maintaining the parallelism and perpendicularity of presses to ensure precision in operations, implementing and overseeing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillar activities, and planning, controlling, and monitoring spare parts inventory to minimise downtime. You will also ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements relating to mechanical utilities.

Utilising your expertise in Analytical QC tools such as ISO standards, Kaizen, VSM, QC Story, MFMEA, CBM, TBM, and Root Cause Analysis, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be vital to align maintenance strategies with business objectives and quality standards.

  • Manage and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all utility-related mechanical equipment including overhead cranes, DG sets, compressors, and forklifts.
  • Lead fault diagnosis and root cause analysis for mechanical failures, ensuring timely resolution to support uninterrupted production.
  • Implement maintenance schedules and ensure all maintenance activities support uptime targets for tryout, spotting presses and CNC machines.
  • Drive health and safety compliance, fostering a safe work environment adhering to OHSAS 18001 standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to optimise spare parts management and reduce operational costs.
  • Document and analyse maintenance data to identify trends and recommend proactive maintenance strategies.
