Job summary

Job Summary: The Mechanical Draftsman will be responsible for preparing, developing, and revising detailed mechanical drawings for industrial and food-processing projects. The position will support the Engineering and Project Teams in the design, fabrication, installation, and documentation of mechanical systems and equipment for facilities involving coconut processing, canning, pineapple products, and other food manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, plans, sections, and details using AutoCAD or other applicable drafting software.

• Develop mechanical shop drawings and fabrication drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.

• Prepare drawings for industrial equipment, machinery, piping, process systems, and mechanical utilities.

• Prepare and develop piping layouts and isometric drawings, including piping routes, dimensions, fittings, supports, and equipment connections.

• Prepare equipment layout drawings showing proper location, orientation, dimensions, clearances, and connections.

• Prepare drawings for process piping and utility piping systems, including water, air, steam, and other applicable process utilities.

• Prepare mechanical fabrication and installation details for equipment, piping, supports, platforms, and related components.

• Assist engineers in developing mechanical designs for food-processing and manufacturing facilities.

• Convert engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, and site information into accurate and detailed technical drawings.

• Conduct site measurements and verification to ensure drawings accurately reflect actual site conditions.

• Revise drawings based on engineering instructions, site conditions, client comments, and approved changes.

• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual installation and completed project works.

• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, Fabricators, and Site Personnel regarding drawing requirements and revisions.

• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensions, equipment locations, piping routes, and constructability.

• Assist in preparing material take-offs, equipment schedules, piping schedules, and other mechanical drawing-related documents when required.

• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision history, file organization, and document control.

• Ensure that drawings comply with project specifications, applicable mechanical standards, and client requirements.

• Provide drafting support during fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and project close-out.

• Perform other mechanical drafting and technical duties as may be assigned by the Engineering or Project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related course.

• With experience as a Mechanical Draftsman is preferred.

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.

• Knowledgeable in mechanical drawings, piping layouts, equipment layouts, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.

• Ability to interpret mechanical plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

• Experience in industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, food-processing plants, or construction projects is an advantage.

• Experience with process piping, machinery, pumps, tanks, conveyors, heat exchangers, or other industrial equipment is an advantage.

• Willing to conduct site visits, measurements, and inspections when required.

• Detail-oriented with strong attention to dimensions, accuracy, and technical details.

• Able to work effectively with engineers, project personnel, fabricators, and contractors.

• Willing to work in industrial/project site environments as required.
