Job summary

IOM - UN Migration is building a roster of qualified candidates to support surge staffing for disasters, emergencies, and humanitarian responses. Local availability and onboarding requirements will apply.

Candidates may be considered for deployment depending on operational needs and funding. Internal and external applicants are welcome; emphasis on liaison with government and international partners, capacity building and cross‑agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,

Responsibilities

• Support with coordination and monitoring of the project’s operational, administrative and financial aspects according to IOM policies and donor requirements.
• Keep supervisor informed on project status; identify gaps and suggest actions to improve implementation.
• Participate in development and adjustment of work plans, budgets, M&E tools and SOPs.
• Coordinate data collection, verification and analysis; update information systems and social media on project activities.
• Prepare and disseminate project reports per IOM procedures and donor requirements.
• Liaise with donors, partners, UN agencies, local authorities and government counterparts.
• Contribute to planning and delivery of capacity building for staff and partners.
• Attend relevant working groups and coordination meetings.
• Supervise and provide guidance to project staff.
• Undertake duty travel for project implementation and monitoring.
• Perform related duties as required.
