Job summary

Emerson seeks a Director of Technology to guide Guardian software across chemicals, life sciences, and energy sectors. You will lead engineering, QA, DevOps, and deployment teams, shaping the technical vision and roadmap for scalable, secure solutions.

You will work with global teams to drive innovation, quality, and organizational effectiveness while championing continuous improvement in software development and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in software, firmware, or technology engineering organizations delivering complex products at scale.
• 7+ years of leadership leading multiple development teams in software, cloud, hardware, or related environments.
• Knowledge of technologies, tools, and processes used to develop, test, deploy, secure, and maintain software systems.
• Experience defining technical direction and translating customer or market needs into actionable technology roadmaps.
• Proven ability to build capable teams, develop talent, and drive organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering, QA, DevOps, and deployment teams while fostering innovation and dependable delivery.
• Guide Agile Release Trains and multi-disciplinary teams delivering Guardian software and solutions.
• Shape technical vision, strategy, architecture, and product roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Drive organizational effectiveness by improving processes and scaling automation.
• Establish priorities, objectives, and success measures while supporting engineering leaders and train leadership.
• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning across the organization.
• Partner with leaders across functions and locations to improve coordination and customer outcomes.
• Champion continuous improvement with scalable software development and delivery approaches.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in software, firmware, cloud, and industrial automation.
• Strengthen software quality, cybersecurity, compliance, and operational resilience across the lifecycle.
