Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Director, People Partner to shape and execute a forward-looking talent strategy spanning succession planning, talent management, change management, and organizational performance across the business units. You will partner with leadership to deliver HR initiatives that enable transformation and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Degree in Business or Human Resources.
• Minimum of 8 years broad-based and progressive HR Generalist and/or HR Specialist experience in a large, multi-national organization.
• Experience in planning and change management principles, organizational effectiveness and reward concepts.
• Demonstrated success in team building and people leadership.
• Expertise across recruitment, performance management, compensation design, organizational design, leadership development and organization development.
• Strong business acumen to align HR strategies with unit and division objectives.
• Good understanding of applicable laws, regulations and policies affecting HR services.
• Excellent facilitation, influencing and communication skills; ability to build relationships and manage change.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders and HR Shared Services to execute on current strategic HR plans to increase bench strength.
• Lead functional leadership teams; drive organizational effectiveness within business groups.
• Identify strategic issues and implement HR policies and practices to support business goals.
• Provide HR leadership in business strategy, employee engagement, organizational development, and succession planning.
• Ensure effective delivery of HR services to the business unit.
• Manage compensation, talent management, and employee engagement cycles.
• Provide HR specialty expertise (Reward, Leadership Development, Recruitment & Retention, Organizational Effectiveness).
• Influence management style and practices; support systemic behavioral changes over the long term.
• Ensure policy and legislative compliance for all HR processes.
• Educate the organization about HR trends affecting the business.
