Responsibilities

• Maintain standards and ensure facilities comply with local regulations and operate assets cost-effectively.
• Ensure hotel equipment runs smoothly and efficiently at all times.
• Oversee engineering department for efficient and economic operations.
• Manage budgets and expenditures on maintenance and projects.
• Reduce energy consumption while preserving guest comfort and equipment life.
• Implement energy management program.
• Provide training to colleagues for proper operation and repair of equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure proper contracts and implementation.
• Maintain and enhance Fire Life Safety in the hotel.

Edsa Shangri-La Manila

Edsa Shangri-La, Manila is the only five-star deluxe city-resort convention hotel in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila's second largest business district. Adjacent to two major shopping complexes in the country - Shangri-La Plaza Mall and SM Megamall. It is seven-kilometres from the Makati Central Business District and 13 kilometers from the international airport.

As Director of Engineering, we rely on you to:

• Maintain standards and ensure facilities are compliant with local regulations and ensure a systematic and cost-effective process of operating, maintaining and upgrading of assets
• Ensure that the equipment in the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently at all times
• Ensure the efficient and economic operations of the Engineering Department
• Manage the budget and expenditure on maintenance and projects
• Reduce energy consumption while taking into account guest comfort and equipment operating life
• Create awareness implementing energy management program
• Provide recommendation on increasing profitability and performance of Hotel
• Establish and implement a preventive maintenance program to achieve higher reliability and service ability of Hotel Facilities
• Providing training in all respective colleagues to ensure efficient operation, proper maintenance and repair to equipment are good morale
• Liaises with suppliers and contractors to obtain correct suppliers and ensure proper implementation of contracts

• Maintain and enhance Fire Life Safety in the hotel

• Preferably a degree holder in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
• Has relevant experience with an International Hotel Group
• Communicates and writes with fluency in English (and local language)
