Job summary

Our Client in Papua New Guinea seeks an experienced Diamond Drilling Supervisor to lead and coordinate diamond drilling for exploration and mine development. You will supervise crews, optimize performance, and ensure safety compliance in remote environments.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in drilling, 2+ years supervising teams, and strong knowledge of drill rigs, core recovery, and field troubleshooting. FIFO/DIDO experience and English proficiency are essential for site leadership and

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional diamond drilling experience in mining/exploration.
Minimum 2 years supervising drilling crews or field-based teams.
Experience managing diamond drilling programs in underground or surface environments.
Proven track record of achieving productivity, core recovery, and safety targets.
Experience in remote, camp-based, FIFO/DIDO operations and rotation rosters.
Strong knowledge of drill rig maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Excellent planning, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
English language required for supervision, reporting and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and mentor drilling crews to ensure safe, efficient operations.
Coordinate daily drilling activities, manpower, equipment, and schedules to meet targets.
Monitor productivity, metreage, core recovery, and overall efficiency of programs.
Ensure core quality and sample integrity in line with geological requirements.
Enforce health, safety, environmental, and operating procedures to promote safety culture.
Conduct inspections, hazard identifications, risk assessments, and investigations as needed.
Monitor drill rig performance and maintenance, and manage consumables usage.
Prepare operational reports covering production, downtime, and workforce activities.
Collaborate with geologists, engineers, maintenance, and site leadership to deliver drilling programs.
Support workforce development through coaching, training, and performance management.
