Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking a Diamond Driller to support exploration, resource definition, and mine development drilling programs in a remote Papua New Guinea site. The role emphasizes safe operation of diamond drilling equipment, high core recovery, and strict adherence to safety standards.

You will collaborate with geologists, supervisors, and maintenance teams to achieve drilling targets, maintain equipment, and ensure quality sample handling in challenging field conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional diamond drilling experience in mining or exploration.
• Proven ability to operate diamond drill rigs in underground and/or surface environments.
• Strong understanding of drill methods, core recovery, and site safety procedures.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and field troubleshooting.
• Willingness to work on rotational rosters in remote site environments and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor diamond drill rigs for exploration and mine development drilling.
• Meet planned drilling targets and productivity goals.
• Deliver high-quality core recovery in line with geological standards.
• Ensure proper core handling, sample management, and documentation.
• Maintain equipment, perform inspections, and support troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Identify hazards and implement safety controls per site procedures.
• Comply with health, safety, environmental and operational standards.
