Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking an experienced Diamond Driller to support exploration and mine development drilling in remote PNG operations. You will operate diamond drill rigs, maintain core quality, and work closely with geologists, supervisors, and maintenance teams to meet safety and production targets.

This role requires 3–5 years of diamond drilling experience, a technical certification or mining training, and the ability to work on camp-based rosters.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional diamond drilling experience.
• Experience operating diamond drill rigs in underground and/or surface settings.
• Remote site or camp-based roster experience preferred.
• Strong safety and field-troubleshooting capabilities.
• English communication for coordination and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor diamond drill rigs to support exploration, resource definition, and mine development drilling programs.
• Achieve planned drilling targets, productivity objectives, and performance requirements.
• Deliver high-quality core recovery in line with geological standards.
• Ensure accurate core handling, sample management and presentation.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Perform troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain availability.
• Identify hazards and enforce safety controls per site procedures.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with geologists, supervisors, and maintenance teams for efficient drilling delivery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drilling performance and safety.
