Job summary

Gammon Pte. Limited is seeking a senior Civil & Structural Engineer to oversee design development, approvals, and coordination across Structural, Architectural, and MEP disciplines.

You will manage external stakeholders, review technical requirements, and drive safe, maintainable designs for complex projects in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to buildability assessments, value engineering, and ensure alignment with project programmes, while mentoring Design Coordinators and

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, recognized by the PEB.
• At least 15 years’ experience in the construction industry, with experience in designing multi-storey depots or similar projects.
• Highly motivated, self-driven with initiative to work independently.
• Meticulous with an eye for detail and a good team player.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Mindset to work in a digital environment and Design for Safety orientation.
• Proficient in project management and understanding of architectural, structural & MEP trades.
• Awareness of sustainability initiatives in construction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all design approvals with contractors and consultants.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, compliance, and contractual requirements.
• Manage design development within the project team and external stakeholders.
• Review and identify potential risk and/or technical issues.
• Provide technical input, support and solutions to design issues to operations and identify risks or discrepancies.
• Review documented technical requirements and project plan for adherence to standards.
• Present on all disciplines—Structural, Architectural, and E&M—involved in the design.
• Coordinate all disciplines in design and manage information flow for timely decisions.
• Involve in technical discussions with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Manage design deliverables—work packages, drawing & material submissions.
• Ensure overall design progress aligns with the programme.
• Input into buildability and value engineering proposals.
• Oversee and develop Design Coordinators to operate independently.
• Review designs with Design for Safety (DfS) & Design for Maintainability (DfM).

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the designs are in accordance with the industry standards, compliance and contractual requirements

• Manage design development within the project team and external stakeholders

• Review and identify potential risk and/or technical issues

• Provide technical input, support and solutions to design issues to operation team and identify any potential risk or discrepancy on the design

• Review documented technical requirements and project plan to ensure adherence to defined standards

• Confident to present on all disciplines, Structural, Architectural and E&M involved in the design

• Responsible to drive and manage the coordination of all disciplines in the design and manage the information flow to enable timely decisions to be made

• Involve in technical discussions with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers

• Manage the design deliverables – work package design submission, drawing & material submission

• Ensure that the overall design progress is in line with the programme

• Input into buildability and value engineering proposals

• Oversee and develop Design Coordinators to manage independently

• Review designs with Design for Safety (DfS) & Design for Maintainability (DfM)

Requirements:
