Job summary

Joy~Nostalg Group is seeking a Design Engineer to oversee engineering design, prototyping, and documentation. You will manage outsourced consultants, ensure compliance with standards, and drive process improvements for housing projects in Ortigas Center, Pasig.

Qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years in structural design, and strong communication skills. Autocad and MS Office proficiency are required, with willingness to travel to site projects as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in structural design of residential housing, mid-rise buildings, and land development.
• Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage work by outsourced engineering design consultants and ensure submittals are submitted on time.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and budget considerations.
• Develop and implement innovative engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to improve performance.
• Organize and maintain engineering records.
• Construct prototypes and confirm designs with Design Management Group and other business units.
• Oversee engineering activities across business groups.
• Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes.

Job Summary

The Design Engineer carries out the duties of the Engineering Management Group, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, process improvement, required standards of quality, cost, timing of deliveries, and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage work by outsourced engineering design consultants and ensure that submittals and deliverables are submitted within the specified and agreed time frame.

• Ensure components and assemblies of the submitted design by consultants are complete and adhere to applicable industry and business standards, and also in consideration of the company's business position and within budget.

• Initiate, develop, and implement creative + innovative best-practice engineering strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.

• Organize and maintain existing engineering records.

• Construct prototypes and confirm designs with Design Management Group and other business groups.

• Overall responsibility for engineering activities across the Business groups.

• Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes as needed.
  

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering graduate or equivalent

• A license is an advantage but not required

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in structural design of residential housing, mid-rise buildings, and land development - earthworks, road concreting, storm drainage, waterline distribution system, bridge + concrete box culvert, slope protection + perimeter fence.

• A dedicated team player with strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.

• Knowledgeable about new technologies for housing. Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workloads and accomplish deliverables.

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Software - Outlook, Word, Excel.

• Experienced in site supervision and managing design consultants.

• Willing to be assigned to Ortigas Center, Pasig.

• Amenable to visiting different site projects when needed.
