Job summary

Hycosys in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Design Engineer to advance mechanical product design, fabrication-oriented assemblies, and manufacturing-ready drawings in SolidWorks. You will convert concepts into detailed models, validated drawings, and BOMs.

Location: Crescent 4, Prestige Shantiniketan, Whitefield, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. You will apply GD&T basics, sheet metal design, fabrication knowledge, and design-for-manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on SolidWorks experience across part modelling, assemblies, sheet metal, drawings, configurations, and basic BOM workflows.
• Good mechanical engineering fundamentals and practical design judgement.
• Understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication, welding, machining, fasteners, and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and create manufacturing-ready drawings with tolerances and GD&T basics.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, sheet metal parts, and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
• Work on fabricated structures, brackets, frames, enclosures, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies.
• Apply engineering fundamentals for strength, fitment, manufacturability, assembly, cost, and serviceability.
• Prepare BOMs, drawing releases, revision documentation, and manufacturing support information.
• Use GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection, welding, fabrication, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, vendors, and internal engineering teams to resolve design, fitment, and build issues.
• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, design changes, and root-cause analysis.

Role Overview

Hycosys is seeking a Design Engineer to work on mechanical product design, fabrication-oriented assemblies, and manufacturing-ready engineering drawings.
