Job summary

Ameriprise India LLP seeks a senior leader to head Derivative Operations within GOIS, guiding an India-based team with links to the UK and the US across the full derivative trade lifecycle.

You will drive operational excellence, risk controls, and continuous improvement while partnering with Front Office, Compliance, Technology, Legal, Risk and external counterparties.

The role emphasizes governance, resilience and timely, accurate trade processing in a complex, global environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years industry experience in middle office or derivatives operations.
• Proven people leadership with strategic direction and performance management.
• Deep knowledge of derivative lifecycle, collateral and margin management.
• Strong understanding of EMIR, Dodd-Frank, and Uncleared Margin Rules.
• Experience with outsourced service provider models and key market infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end derivative trade lifecycle oversight, from execution through termination.
• Maintain robust operating standards across trade capture, lifecycle events and collateral.
• Oversee reconciliations with counterparties, clearers, fund accountants, custodians and internal platforms.
• Drive disciplined exception management, prioritisation and issue resolution across products.
• Strengthen the operational control framework for governance and risk.
• Identify and mitigate operational and settlement risks with proactive monitoring.
• Lead root cause analysis for incidents and remediation actions.
