Job summary

Nomura Holdings, Inc. in India seeks an Executive Director to lead the Global Masters Documentation Team, overseeing complex derivatives master agreements and providing senior legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions including India, Asia, Japan, EMEA and the Americas.

The role requires a seasoned derivatives lawyer with deep technical expertise who can manage global negotiations, mentor a team, and collaborate with regional legal teams and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• LLB/LLM or equivalent legal qualification.
• 18+ years of legal experience with at least 10 years in derivatives across multiple asset classes.
• Minimum 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading complex master agreements negotiations and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and independently manage complex negotiation of derivatives documentation (ISDA/CSA/CTA, GMRA, MRA, GMSLA, MSLA, MSFA, etc.).
• Draft, review, and negotiate multi-jurisdictional derivatives contracts across India, Asia, Japan, EMEA and Americas.
• Identify risks and obtain approvals across corporate divisions and locations.
• Support traders, structurers, sales, and risk management on complex derivatives legal matters.
• Coordinate with local counsel on regulatory compliance matters (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, CFTC/SEC rules).
• Lead derivative regulatory implementations and strategic initiatives within the team.
