We are seeking a skilled and motivated Deputy Manager - DRG Coding Operations to support the leadership of our medical coding team. This role is ideal for a coding professional with leadership experience who is passionate about quality, accuracy, employee development, and operational excellence.

You will help oversee day-to-day coding operations, drive team performance, provide coaching to coders, and ensure compliance with coding standards and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support daily operations of the DRG coding team.

• Monitor performance metrics including coding accuracy, productivity, quality, and service levels.

• Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members.

• Assist in conducting performance reviews and employee engagement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.

• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and improve performance.

• Conduct quality reviews and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

• Participate in coding education programs, calibration sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.

• Assist with escalations, reporting, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

• 2 to 4 years of Team Lead or supervisory experience in a BPO or healthcare operations environment.

• CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder) certification.

• At least 1 to 2 years of medical coding experience.

• Strong understanding of inpatient coding guidelines, clinical documentation, and DRG methodologies.

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, medical coding, or claims operations.

• Familiarity with ICD coding standards and healthcare reimbursement processes.

• Claims processing experience in a BPO, insurance, or HMO environment.
