Job summary

Cybalink Solutions in Pasig is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (Application Support Engineer, Database) to maintain and secure Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL environments, and resolve data-related issues.

You will provide Level 2 support across production, test, and development, manage backups, monitoring, performance tuning, and automation with T-SQL and PowerShell. Office in Arcovia, Pasig.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least 3 years of combined application support and database administration experience.
• Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server incl. configuration, patching, maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong T-SQL skills and PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with ITSM processes (incident, request, problem, change).
• Azure DP-300 certification desirable; exposure to Always On, clustering, replication, SSIS/SSRS/Power BI advantageous.
• Willing to work full-time in the Arcovia, Pasig City office.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for application, integration, data, and database-related incidents.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL across production, test, and development environments.
• Manage database installation, configuration, patching, maintenance jobs, backups, and restores.
• Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, and scheduled jobs.
• Resolve performance issues involving queries, indexes, blocking, deadlocks, and long-running processes.
• Administer database access, roles, permissions, encryption, auditing, and security controls.
• Support database migrations, application upgrades, releases, testing, and deployment activities.
• Use T-SQL and PowerShell to investigate issues and automate routine administrative tasks.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, reports, and accurate support records.
• Take ownership of assigned issues and communicate progress, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders.
