Job summary

ERNI in Metro Manila is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our hybrid team. You will monitor, maintain and optimize databases, ensuring high availability across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure PostgreSQL, Oracle and Snowflake, plus scripting skills and strong problem-solving abilities. Join a global software engineering leader with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in database administration and production support.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server.
• Knowledge of Oracle Database and Snowflake is an advantage.
• Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, database security, and access management.
• Experience with database migrations and platform upgrades.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Basic scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Python, SQL, Bash, or similar tools.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain database environments to ensure availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide appropriate solutions.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and configuration reviews.
• Manage routine database maintenance, backups, recovery, and health checks.
• Support database security, access management, and operational best practices.
• Work with application, infrastructure, and development teams to resolve database-related issues.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and platform changes.
• Assist with moving databases between cloud and self-hosted environments.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive database administration tasks.
