Job summary

Maya Bank is seeking a Data Science Lead to drive AI, ML, and customer intelligence strategy across the Maya ecosystem. You will lead a team of data scientists delivering production-grade analytics and AI solutions aimed at improving acquisition, engagement, personalization, and revenue growth.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Product, Growth, Engineering, and CRM to translate business objectives into scalable data-driven solutions, establish best practices, and mentor a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, CS, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 7+ years in Data Science/AI with production-grade solutions.
• 3+ years of people leadership.
• Experience with clustering, propensity, recommendation, classification, and predictive models.
• Experience partnering with product, marketing, growth, and engineering.
• Fintech or digital finance/consumer tech experience is a plus.

Overview: We are looking for a Data Science Lead

to drive Maya's AI, machine learning, and customer intelligence strategy. This role will lead a team of Data Scientists in developing and deploying advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions that improve customer acquisition, engagement, retention, personalization, and revenue growth across Maya's ecosystem. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in clustering, customer segmentation, propensity modeling, recommendation systems, experimentation, and marketing analytics

, and can translate business objectives into scalable AI-powered solutions. This leader will work closely with Marketing, Product, Growth, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to build and operationalize Maya's intelligence layer while establishing best practices across the Data Science function.

What you will do:

• Lead the development and deployment of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions that drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, personalization, and business growth.
• Partner with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into scalable data science solutions, technical roadmaps, and measurable business outcomes.
• Design and oversee customer intelligence and marketing analytics initiatives, including customer segmentation, clustering, propensity modeling, recommendation systems, customer lifetime value prediction, and next-best-action frameworks.
• Establish and maintain high standards for model development, experimentation, validation, explainability, governance, monitoring, and scalability to ensure reliable production-grade AI solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Growth, and CRM teams to operationalize machine learning models and embed data-driven decision-making across customer journeys and marketing platforms.
• Champion innovation by driving the adoption of emerging AI technologies, advanced analytics methodologies, experimentation frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
• Present insights, model performance, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, demonstrating the business impact of AI and machine learning initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing Data Science team through coaching, capability building, workforce planning, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. At least 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI, including the development and deployment of production-grade solutions.
• At least 3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing high-performing Data Science teams.
• Proven experience building and deploying clustering, propensity, recommendation, classification, and predictive models.
• Experience supporting marketing, growth, CRM, lifecycle, personalization, or customer analytics initiatives.
• Experience partnering with Product, Marketing, Growth, and Engineering stakeholders.
• Experience with Marketing Platforms, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Campaign Management Systems, or customer engagement platforms is highly preferred.
• Experience within fintech, banking, digital financial services, or large-scale consumer technology companies is highly preferred.
• Product scaling, experimentation, and growth analytics experience is a plus.
• Research and development experience in emerging AI technologies is a plus.
