Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, information security, risk management, or related functions
- Strong knowledge of the Data Privacy Act of 2012, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable data privacy regulations
- Solid understanding of data protection principles, privacy frameworks, and information security best practices
- Experience conducting compliance reviews, audits, risk assessments, or incident investigations is an advantage
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and documentation management
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Privacy Associate (CDPA), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or similar are an advantage but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist the Data Protection Officer in ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the Data Protection Office
- Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures
- Conduct regular data protection audits and privacy impact assessments
- Monitor compliance with applicable data protection regulations, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and the General Data Protection Regulation
- Assist in investigating and responding to data breaches and security incidents
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams to integrate data protection measures into business processes
- Serve as the first point of contact for data protection and privacy-related inquiries
- Maintain and update the organization's data privacy and protection registry
- Review and update data protection documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current standards
- Maintain records of processing activities, compliance documentation, and audit findings
- Support regulatory reporting and compliance submissions as required
- Deliver training and guidance to employees on data protection policies and best practices
- Promote organization-wide awareness of data privacy and information security responsibilities
- Stay informed of emerging data protection trends, technologies, and regulatory developments
- Recommend process improvements that strengthen organizational data privacy practices
- Perform other administrative or non-administrative duties as assigned by authorized company representatives
