Job summary

eTap Inc. is a Philippine fintech company specializing in self-service transaction machines and payment systems.

We are seeking a Database Administrator/Data Engineer to ensure stable MySQL/PostgreSQL environments, support Data Lake infrastructure, and optimize ETL/ELT processes for reliable data operations. You will design, monitor, and tune databases, build pipelines, and work with cloud and on-prem data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL administration.
• Strong SQL scripting, query optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, Talend, Python, or similar.
• Understanding of Data Lake concepts and modern data warehousing practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to system reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and ensure high availability.
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows across systems.
• Maintain Data Lake structure, storage, and partitioning strategies.
• Proactively monitor performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Manage access controls, encryption, and audit monitoring for security.
• Execute backup and disaster recovery procedures and testing.
