Job summary

OneOcean is hiring a Database Specialist in the Philippines. You will design, develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation and modelling pipelines as part of our analytics landscape and data ecosystem.

The role focuses on providing timely, accurate data to internal stakeholders and customers to enable informed decision making. We are re-designing our data/reporting approach and looking for innovative data professionals to help deliver value from data to the business and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with MSSQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL on-premises or cloud.
• Knowledge of data management, cleansing and query optimisation.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
• Scripting in JavaScript or C#.
• Strong problem-solving and numerical abilities.
• Experience with CI/CD and source control.
• Model datasets for BI visualisation (PowerBI).
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data pipeline architecture from multiple sources.
• Assemble large, complex data sets meeting business requirements.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements for data delivery.
• Build infrastructure for ETL/ELT from diverse sources.
• Ensure robust data validation for reporting accuracy.
• Develop and maintain data warehousing models and pipelines.
• Keep data secure and separated per best practices.
• Coordinate with business units to ensure data availability.
• Stay up-to-date with cloud data technologies.
• Document data models and operations for effective use.
