The role emphasizes strong technical skills in Python/SQL/Scala, cloud experience with Azure, and solid project management capabilities to deliver high-quality data projects on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in Python, SQL and Scala.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform and cloud data solutions.
• Proven experience leading a team of data engineers.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data integration.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and delivery skills.
• Familiar with data security and privacy regulations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Degree in CS/IS; certifications in data integration are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the data engineering team, including mentoring and coaching.
• Support team with troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
• Set technical direction for data engineering tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and plans.
• Assist project managers to ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery and risk mitigation.
• Act as trusted advisor for the customer and stakeholders.
• Oversee architecture and design of data solutions for scalability and efficiency.
• Enforce coding standards and conduct code reviews.
• Implement quality assurance processes for data pipelines.
• Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve data engineering processes.
• Serve as main point of contact to other teams and maintain project docs.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
