Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Technician for Server Operations to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in a cutting-edge data center environment. You will run complex component configurations, manage networks, and participate in small project teams on installations.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware, Linux systems, and cross-team collaboration within Google's AI and Infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
Experience with networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and physically demanding work.
Experience with Linux operating systems.
Experience with assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
Experience working in data center or network operations center environments.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or teams.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, and infrastructure.
Execute advanced operational procedures and follow security policies.
Work in shifts to meet evolving business needs.
