Job summary

Amazon in the Philippines is seeking a Data Center Technician to design, implement, and maintain Linux-based server infrastructures within AWS data centers. You will monitor systems, diagnose issues, and optimize performance while configuring network hardware and cabling across critical environments.

You will contribute to robust backup and disaster recovery strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and reliable service to AWS customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• 2+ years of data center, critical environment, cable management or related operations experience.

A day in the life

As Data Centre Operations Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers. There is never a dull moment as each day presents itself with different challenges. Some of the key responsibilities you will undertake are:

• You will troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage and networking devices on a 24/7 basis.
• You will maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
• You will participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies with opportunities to share experiences and knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
• You will share knowledge and help train less technical staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues
• You will contribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience
