Job description

DiDi Global Inc. is the world’s leading mobility technology platform. It offers a wide range of app-based services across markets including Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa, including ride hailing, taxi hailing, chauffeur, hitch and other forms of shared mobility as well as auto solutions, food delivery, intra-city freight, and financial services.

DiDi provides car owners, drivers, and delivery partners with flexible work and income opportunities. It is committed to collaborating with policymakers, the taxi industry, the automobile industry and the communities to solve the world’s transportation, environmental and employment challenges through the use of AI technology and localized smart transportation innovations. DiDi strives to create better life experiences and greater social value, by building a safe, inclusive and sustainable transportation and local services ecosystem for cities of the future.

We are building a completely new logistics supply model for food delivery in Mexico — not optimizing something that already works, but figuring out from scratch what should exist. Everything here is 0 to 1: the partner network, the pricing logic, the target system, the settlement infrastructure. Most of it did not exist eighteen months ago. Some of it does not exist yet.

That means the answers are not in a playbook. There is no team down the hall who solved this last year. You will define the metric before you can hit it, build the mechanism before you can run it, and be wrong in public often enough to learn fast. The work is genuinely hard, and the ambiguity is real — but so is the ownership. Decisions here are made by the people doing the work, and they show up in the numbers within weeks.

We have the backing of a company that operates at scale, and the pace and freedom of a team that is still writing its own rules. That combination is rare, and it is the reason this team exists.

If you have ever looked at a broken process and thought I could fix this if someone would just let me — this is that job.

In this role, you'll be...
1. Settlement cycle ownership
  • Own the end-to-end settlement cycle for Vendor partners: translate pricing and incentive rules into calculation logic, produce statements on schedule, and drive the payment process through to completion.
  • Guarantee accuracy. Reconcile order-level data against pricing rules and Finance records before release, and own the dispute and adjustment process end to end.
  • Maintain full traceability: every line on a statement should be reproducible from source data.
2. Billing analysis
  • Break down settlement cost by vendor, city, zone, tier, and order type each cycle, and explain month-over-month movement — separating volume effects, rate effects, rule changes, and errors.
  • Surface structural issues, not just line-item discrepancies. Examples: revenue attributed to the wrong budget pool, incentives double-counted, pricing rules that misfire on edge cases.
  • Provide the cost inputs Operations needs to make pricing and supply-structure decisions.
3. Pricing rule implementation and control
  • Convert pricing, incentive, and commercial term changes into settlement logic before they go live; pressure-test edge cases and quantify the cost impact in advance.
  • Maintain a versioned single source of truth for settlement rules.
  • Build automated validation and anomaly detection so errors surface before a statement is issued, not after a partner disputes it.
4. Finance partnership and compliance
  • Work with Finance on accruals, budget pools, invoice (factura) matching, and tax documentation; support month-end close and audit requests.
  • Ensure settlement records meet local compliance and documentation requirements.
5. Automation and AI
  • Move the settlement process from manual to automated: reduce cycle time, manual touch points, and single-person dependency.
  • Apply AI tools to reconciliation, anomaly detection, document handling, and analysis production.
We're eager to be in touch because you have...
Must have
  • Fluent English (proficient level, working language) — daily use for cross-regional reporting, Finance alignment, and written analysis.
  • 5+ years of work experience.
  • Strong data analysis capability (hard requirement) — SQL and large-scale transaction-level data handling; able to independently pull, reconcile, and attribute without relying on BI support. Comfortable working with millions of rows and finding the one that's wrong.
  • Proficient with AI tools (hard requirement) — applied in daily work for reconciliation, anomaly detection, document handling, and analysis production, with concrete examples of workflows you have rebuilt.
  • Excellent business sense — able to look at a number and know whether it is plausible, and know where to look when it isn't.
  • High rigor and accountability. Settlement errors are externally visible and expensive; this role requires someone who double-checks by instinct.
Plus
  • Accounting or finance background — significant plus. Familiarity with accruals, reconciliation, month-end close, and audit requirements.
  • Familiarity with Mexican tax and invoicing (RFC, CFDI, factura).
  • Spanish.
  • Experience with vendor/supplier settlement, franchise payouts, or gig-economy courier payment systems.
  • Python or other automation skills; BI tool proficiency.
