Fuel the Future With Us
The Credit Specialist is responsible for protecting Unioil's receivables portfolio through rigorous credit assessment and sound judgment on credit limit decisions. This is a high-accountability role: the Credit Specialist owns the quality of every credit recommendation she recommends on.
How You'll Drive Success
Credit Assessment & Underwriting
- Evaluate new credit applications and renewal requests against Unioil's credit policies
- Conduct credit investigation: verify business legitimacy, ownership structures, affiliated company exposures, and negative data findings
- Structure appropriate credit lines (revolving, term, interim) based on client financial capacity, payment behavior, and industry risk profile
- Identify and document risk mitigants for every credit recommendation — no approval without a documented rationale
- Formally flag aggressive line proposals with written credit concerns before committee presentation; do not approve what you cannot defend
Fieldwork & Physical Verification
- Conduct site visits for new credit applications, significant line increases, and accounts with material changes in operations
- Verify physical assets, operational activity, and management credibility in person, particularly for construction, quarrying, and project-finance accounts
- Document site visit findings with photos, observations, and a signed visit report; findings must inform the credit recommendation
- Validate Letters of Credit (LC), Standby LCs (SBLC), and other credit instruments — track expiry dates and initiate renewal follow-ups proactively
- Review and verify SEC registration, Articles of Incorporation, GIS, audited financial statements, and bank references for completeness and authenticity
- Maintain organized credit files per account; flag documentation gaps before credit lines are extended, not after
Credit Committee & Governance
- Prepare and present credit proposals to the Credit Committee — written and oral formats. Own the presentation; know the account well enough to answer any question
- Recommend credit limit recalibrations (increase, reduction, suspension) based on payment behavior and current financial capacity
- Participate in credit committee meetings; apply consistent judgment standards across all accounts regardless of commercial pressure
