The role focuses on detailed cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis for mechanical projects, with responsibility for cost control and reporting. You will work with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to optimize resources, while staying updated on industry practices and regulations.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
3–5 years of cost engineering experience in QS/consultancy.
Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting and financial analysis.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering, construction methods and regulations.
Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
Proficient in cost estimation software and project management tools.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical projects.
Monitor and control project costs to align with budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.

About the role

As a Cost Engineer (Mechanical) at PMQS Construction Solutions, Inc.', you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our mechanical engineering projects. Based in our office in Ortigas, Pasig City, Metro Manila, this full-time position requires extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and a keen eye for cost optimization.

What you'll be doing

Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical engineering projects
Monitoring and controlling project costs to ensure they align with the established budget
Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to reduce expenses
Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient resource utilization
Preparing detailed cost reports and presenting findings to senior management
Providing technical advice and support to the project team on cost-related matters
Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering costing

What we're looking for

Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Cost Engineer in a QS Firm/Consultancy company
Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, construction methods, and industry regulations
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Proficient in using cost estimation software and project management tools
Willing to work on-site in Ortigas, Pasig (Monday-Friday)
