Job summary

DATEM INC. is seeking a skilled Cost Engineer in Metro Manila to support project cost control and change management.

You will identify, document, estimate, and reconcile costs, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submission to clients. The ideal candidate has a Civil/Construction engineering background, at least 2 years in cost engineering, and proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, SAP, and scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil/Construction/Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent.
• PRC license is a plus, but not required.
• 2+ years of experience as Cost Engineer.
• Knowledgeable with MS Office, AutoCAD, and SAP or similar software.
• MS Project and Primavera Scheduling software knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Claims administration including identification, documentation, estimating, costing, submission, reconciliation with client, cost monitoring and resolution of matters related to change orders and claims.
• Implement cost control measures through cost analyses and allocations.
• Keep updated records and tracking of Cost and Change and Variation data for reporting and analysis.
• Enforce ISO Procedure & Policy for cost and variations.
• Perform ad hoc duties and cross-functional support as required.

Job description

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct Claims administration in terms of identification, documentation, estimating, costing, submission, reconciliation with client, cost monitoring and resolution of matters related to change orders and claims.

• Implement effective cost control measures through conducting (1) rehash, (2) analysis of variances between the Bid and FCD Plans, (3) proper allocation of cost in terms of awards, network activity assignments and other SAP deliverables.

• Keep updated records and tracking of Cost and Change and Variation data of the project for reportorial and analysis purposes of the project.

• Enforce compliance to the ISO Procedure & Policy for both cost and variations in the project.

• Perform Ad hoc duties and responsibilities that may be required and agreed upon with Commercial and Cost Manager, Project Manager, including but not limited to special tasks, assignments, support tasks, cross-functional collaboration, and other duties necessary to support the project.

Qualification and Skills Requirement

Educational Attainment:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, specialized course in Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent related program

• PRC license is a plus, but not required.

Work Experience:

• Must have at least 2 years of experience as Cost Engineer

Technical Competencies:

• Knowledgeable with MS Office, Autocad, and SAP or similar software is required.

• Knowledgeable with MS Project and Primavera Scheduling software is highly advantageous.
