Job summary

Makilala Mining Company, Inc. is seeking a Cost Controller/Scheduler to lead large mining project schedules and cost analysis. You will manage Primavera or MS Project plans, analyze data, and provide insights to improve performance across project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in Project Controlling and 4 years in Construction Project Scheduling.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with Primavera or MS Project is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage large project schedules using Primavera or MS Project and risk management tools.
• Analyze project cost and schedule data; prepare reports and recommendations.
• Use spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, and statistics software to analyze data and forecast trends.
• Perform KPI-based analyses and lead risk analysis for the team.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to support planning and control initiatives.
• Verify cost information accuracy and allocate costs to the project budget.
• Produce reports on deviations and forecast cost trends.
• Monitor project costs and commitments to budget and forecast.
• Develop and update progress curves and manage EVM.
• Conduct Critical Path Analysis to forecast delays and evaluate scenarios.

About the role

Cost Controller/Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing large, moderate to complex projects schedules and data, analyzing costs and schedule data, makes solution recommendations and leads risk analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage large, moderate to complex project schedules using a corporate scheduling tool such as Primavera or Microsoft Project, and risk management tools

• Assist project units and the Project Coordinator by developing, maintaining, and analyzing project cost and schedule data, prepares reports based on data analytics, and makes recommendations to improve performance of project teams or specific projects

• Use spreadsheet, database, scheduling, and statistical software packages to analyze data, spot trends, and develop forecasts

• Run analysis to determine performance based on established KPIs and lead risk analysis for the team or area coordinator

• Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to support project planning and control initiatives

• Verify the accuracy of cost information, ensuring that costs are properly coded and allocated to the project budget

• Produce reports on deviations, under-runs, over-runs, and prepare forecasts and cost trend reports

• Monitor project costs and commitments to budget and forecast

• Develop and update progress curves for progress reporting and manage EVM during all project stages

• Conduct Critical Path Analysis to forecast delays and evaluate alternative scenarios

About you

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Controlling and 4 years of experience in Construction Project Scheduling

• Bachelor's degree preferred

• Experience with Primavera (preferred) and/or MS Project

• Experience in Processing Plants and Mining Projects preferred

• Advanced computer literacy, including operation of office automation products (e.g., Microsoft Office Project, Excel), is required
